Local authorities in northern Moldova have inaugurated three new eco-trails, marked and equipped with information boards about the region's flora and fauna. The routes vary in difficulty — from easy walks of a few hours to full-day treks for experienced hikers.
The initiative is part of a broader green tourism programme that emphasises respect for the environment and support for village agrotourism guesthouses. Each trail passes through at least one viewpoint overlooking fields or forest.

Local volunteers maintain the paths and plant trees on erosion-prone slopes. The communities involved see the trails as an investment in the area's economic future without compromising its natural heritage.
Trail maps are available online and at tourist information centres in northern districts. Appropriate gear, enough water, and checking weather conditions in advance are recommended, especially in spring and autumn.
